We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The portable hip flask evolved from medieval spirit containers, becoming particularly popular in the 18th and 19th centuries among sportsmen, travellers, and gentlemen requiring discreet access to spirits during outdoor pursuits.

Traditional antique flasks were primarily fashioned from metals such as sterling silver, pewter, or plated nickel, often partially covered in embossed leathers like pigskin, calfskin, or exotic hides to provide a secure grip and insulation.

Authentic pieces typically feature manufacturer hallmarks, makers marks, or purity stamps, such as Sheffield plate or sterling silver indicators, often stamped near the neck, cap screw, or base.

An antique pocket flask can be displayed as a decorative accent on a home bar cart, styled atop a stack of vintage books on a bookshelf, or featured within a study interior.

Metal components should be polished gently with a non-abrasive silver cloth to maintain patination, while leather coverings require neutral leather balms to prevent drying and cracking over time.
