We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Vanity items produced during the George V era frequently featured intricate guilloche enamel work set into sterling silver frames, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of early 20th-century silversmiths.

These pieces were typically crafted from sterling silver, cut or moulded glass, and vitreous enamel applied over a guilloche-engraved metal base.

Authenticity is verified by inspecting the hallmarks stamped on the silver mount, which indicate the assay office, date letter, and makers mark, alongside the weight and clarity of the enamel.

These small decorative objects can be placed on a vanity tray, dressing table, or mantelpiece to introduce a subtle touch of metallic sheen and vibrant colour.

Silver mounts should be polished carefully using a non-abrasive silver cloth, avoiding direct contact with the enamel surface, which should only be wiped gently with a soft, dry cloth.
