The Edwardian era, spanning from approximately 1901 to 1914, is characterised by light, airy designs often incorporating platinum-topped gold settings, delicate filigree, and prominent use of diamonds.

Jewellery from this period frequently utilised yellow gold for the shank, combined with platinum on the setting heads to enhance the brilliance of diamonds and provide durable support.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut stones such as old European cuts, hand-carved mounting details, period hallmarks, and natural signs of gentle wear consistent with early 20th-century craftsmanship.

Antique rings pair effectively with contemporary plain bands to create a mixed-metal stack, or they can be worn alone as a striking focal point that contrasts with minimalist modern apparel.

Preserve antique jewellery by storing pieces in separate fabric-lined compartments, cleaning them gently with mild soapy water and a soft brush, and having settings inspected annually by a professional jeweller.
