Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Rings from the 1920s typically feature old European cut diamonds set in styles that bridge late Edwardian elegance and early Art Deco geometry. These pieces frequently showcase slender bands made of yellow gold paired with platinum or white metal settings to accentuate the diamond.

Solitaire rings from this era commonly utilised eighteen-carat yellow gold for the band paired with platinum or white gold claws to hold the central diamond securely. The combination provided structural durability while offering a neutral backing that optimized the refraction of light through the stone.

Old cut diamonds, particularly old European cuts, are distinguished by a high crown, small table, deep pavilion, and a visible flat culet at the base of the stone. Unlike modern brilliant cuts, they were hand-faceted to maximise sparkle under candlelight, resulting in a distinct optical pattern.

An antique solitaire ring pairs effectively alongside slim modern metal wedding bands or vintage-inspired eternity rings. The classic low-profile setting of a single stone ring allows it to stack seamlessly with contemporary or historical pieces.

Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust and oil from around the claws. Periodically have a professional jeweller inspect the claws to ensure the stone remains secure.
