Scandinavian guilloche enamel jewellery features fine metal engravings overlaid with translucent coloured enamels, a technique popularised by Nordic silversmiths during the late 19th and mid-20th centuries.

These pieces are typically crafted from sterling silver, often with a gilt or rhodium wash, combined with vitreous glass enamel applied over machine-turned metal patterns.

Authentic pieces usually bear maker marks, silver purity stamps such as 925 or Sterling, and exhibit the characteristic depth and weight of vitreous glass rather than modern resin.

Vintage brooches can be pinned to coat lapels, silk scarves, knitwear jumpers, or structured handbags to add a distinct splash of colour and historical texture to contemporary outfits.

Enamel jewellery should be stored away from direct sunlight and hard objects to prevent scratching, and cleaned gently with a soft microfibre cloth without harsh chemical dips.
