We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian silver coffee pots frequently feature elaborate ornamentation, drawing inspiration from historical revival styles such as Rococo, Gothic, and Renaissance revival, characterised by repousse work, chasing, and cast finials.

These pieces were crafted from sterling silver, typically containing 92.5% pure silver, often constructed using a combination of hand-raising, spinning, and casting for handles and decorative feet, with wooden or ivory insulators fitted to the handle sockets to prevent heat transfer.

Authenticity is verified through British hallmarks stamped into the metal, which include the makers mark, the standard mark (such as the lion passant for sterling silver), the assay office mark, and a date letter indicating the exact year of manufacture.

An antique silver coffee pot can be styled as a focal point on a sideboard, used as a vase for dried botanicals, or integrated into a curated tablescape to introduce metallic texture and historical contrast to contemporary spaces.

Antique silver should be cleaned infrequently using a non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can strip the recessed oxidisation and damage historic hallmarks.
