Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency Georgian old Sheffield plate double wine coaster trolley holds two circular vessels joined on a wheeled frame with a loop handle. The silver object displays a polished silver colour throughout its solid metallic construction. Each circular holder incorporates decorative gadrooned borders at the upper rims, draught turned rounded bases, and a smooth interconnected chassis fitted with four detailed spoked wheels and a vine-moulded end handle. The piece stands at 8 cm high, 35 cm wide, and 16 cm deep in practical tabletop terms. Suitable for placement along the centre of a dining table, the item functions as a practical drinks server for holding and moving bottles during meals. The sturdy dual-coaster arrangement suits formal dining settings and traditional interior schemes, serving as a functional tableware accessory that accommodates wine bottles for guests during dinner parties.

FAQs

A Georgian wine trolley, also known as a decanter wagon, is a wheeled silver or silver-plated holder designed to roll decanters smoothly across formal dining tables without scratching polished wood surfaces.

Old Sheffield Plate items were crafted by fusing a layer of sterling silver onto a copper ingot before rolling it into sheets, which were then shaped and assembled into table accessories with cast components such as spoked wheels.

Authentic pieces frequently exhibit slight copper show-through where the silver layer has worn over time, alongside hand-turned joints, die-stamped borders, and faint copper seams visible on the underside rims.

A double wine trolley functions as a centrepiece on a formal dining table or sideboard, serving either as a functional decanter holder during dinner service or as a standalone barware display.

Clean gently using a soft cotton cloth and non-abrasive silver polish formulated specifically for plated items, avoiding aggressive dipping solutions that can strip the thin silver layer.
