Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s to 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, stylised motifs, and the prominent use of platinum paired with diamonds.

Jewellers of this era frequently utilised platinum for its strength and white lustre to set diamonds, often combining it with yellow or white gold for the shank and mounting structure.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut diamonds such as old European or single cuts, hand-carved milgrain detailing, openwork metal filigree, and period hallmark stamps indicating metal purity.

An antique ring can be worn as a standalone statement piece or stacked with contemporary minimalist bands to create a deliberate contrast between historical craftsmanship and modern design.

Preserve the integrity of the setting by cleaning gently with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners, and having the prong settings checked annually by a professional jeweller.
