Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco design, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, stylised motifs, and sleek lines, often incorporating luxurious materials such as sterling silver and vitreous enamel.

These items typically feature a solid sterling silver base embellished with engine-turned guilloche enamel, a technique where intricate patterns are machine-engraved beneath translucent layers of coloured glass enamel.

Authentic pieces generally bear British hallmark stamps indicating the metal standard, assay office, and year of manufacture, alongside maker marks, while the enamel should exhibit fine engine-turning without modern resin repairs.

This piece can be displayed flat on a mirrored dressing tray, leaned against a bedroom mantelpiece, or showcased on a vanity counter as part of a curated vintage vignette.

Store the item away from direct sunlight to prevent enamel fading, clean the silver elements gently with a specialised non-abrasive silver cloth, and avoid submerging the piece in water to protect the glass enamel and reflective backing.
