An 18th-century air twist wine glass. It has a round funnel pan top bowl above a single series air twist stem consisting of a spiral air gauze. Conical foot.

Date & Origin

England, c1750. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration.

Dimensions

Height: 16.1cm Rim diameter: 6cm, Foot diameter: 7.5cm.

Historical Context

Hand-blown around the time of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, led by Charles Edward Stuart.
