The George V period spans from 1910 to 1936, characterised by a continuation of traditional styles alongside the gradual introduction of cleaner, neoclassical revival forms and streamlined manufacturing techniques.

These pieces were typically crafted from sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques such as raising, spinning, and casting, often featuring applied hinges and thumbpieces alongside removable glass liners.

Authenticity is verified by examining the set of hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include the makers mark, the sterling standard mark, the assay office town mark, and the date letter indicating the year of manufacture.

Antique silver can be styled as functional table accents, displayed on open shelving, or used as small decorative vessels on sideboards and side tables to add reflective metallic texture and historical contrast to modern spaces.

Antique silver should be cleaned infrequently using a non-abrasive, high-quality silver polish and a soft cloth, avoiding harsh dips that can strip desirable patination, and stored in a dry, tarnish-resistant environment.
