A Fabulous Regency Period Cut Glass Butter Dish

A fabulous cut glass butter dish from the Georgian Regency period. This gorgeous example is of rounded form, with stunning hobnail cutting to the body and lid, so popular in the Regency period. The base has a polished pontil mark and there is addition step and panel cut decoration to both parts. The lid is removed via the star cut knop and there is a raised plinth foot to the base. These fine pieces are good collector's items and rather difficult to find, particularly with lids intact. A good example both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.
