Victorian Scottish Malachite Silver Earrings And Brooch

Victorian hand chased silver articulated earrings and an impresssive matching brooch set with beautiful polished malachite. The reverse of the brooch is marked JAMIESON ABERDEEN - Jamieson''s is a historic family owned jeweller which has been trading since the 1870s, when the company described itself as a maker of ''Granite Ornaments and Scotch Jewellery, Crest Brooches and Highlands Ornaments.
 
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria from the mid 1800s when she and Prince Albert frequently visited Scotland and her Scottish castle Balmoral. Although antique Scottish brooches are relatively common, earrings are much harder to track down - let alone with a matching brooch - and so quite a rare find!
 
• Condition: Both the earrings and the brooch are in very good antique condition; the brooch has a tiny neat repair to the malachite in one corner, see photos.
 
• Fixing: Ear wires. Supplied with tiny silicone ''keepers'' to pop on the ends for additional security.
