We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Maintain sterling silver by storing it in a dry environment, handling it with clean hands or cotton gloves to prevent oil transfer, and using specialised silver polish sparingly only when necessary to preserve the patina.

Placing this small accessory on a traditional desk, bookshelf, or side table introduces a touch of metallic texture and historical detail that complements contemporary minimalist or maximalist spaces alike.

Authenticity is primarily verified through clear British hallmarks stamped on the metal, indicating the assay office, date letter, and makers mark, alongside natural patination and period-appropriate construction methods.

These boxes were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, often featuring gilt interiors, wood linings, or enamel details, manufactured using techniques like stamping, casting, and hand-engraving.

Edwardian silver typically reflects the tastes of the early 20th century, combining refined elegance with influences from previous periods such as the Georgian and Art Nouveau eras.
