Exhibit Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
A fine large Georgian Regency Broad Base Taper glass decanter dating to c1820.
It has its original hollow mushroom stopper with a band of strawberry cuts.
Star cut base.

Almost certainly Irish Waterford and one of the best cut decanters we have had from this period.
You can see examples of broad-based taper decanters with the same style of stoppers and similar cutting on page 240 & 248 of 'The Decanter An Illustrated history from 1650' by Andy McConnell.

Age-related wear as shown. Some grazing to a few of the prism cuts and the end of the stopper peg has some nibbles.
