Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian jewellery, produced between 1901 and 1910, is known for its light, delicate aesthetic and openwork designs. Pieces frequently feature platinum settings, geometric motifs, and fine millegrain bordering around precious gemstones.

Jewellers during the Edwardian period predominantly worked with platinum fused over yellow gold to provide structural strength while maintaining a light silver colour tone. Natural diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and pearls were commonly set within these precious metal mountings.

Authentic Edwardian pieces often display ultra-fine millegrain edging, platinum-faced metalwork with gold backings, and hand-cut stones such as old European or single-cut diamonds. Hallmark stamps indicating gold purity or platinum content also assist in verification.

Antique necklaces can be displayed on velvet-lined jewellery stands, glass-topped shadow boxes, or antique trinket dishes placed on a vanity table. Storing and displaying them in dedicated velvet presentation boxes helps protect the delicate metalwork while highlighting historical detail.

To preserve fine gemstone jewellery, clean gently using lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths on antique settings, and store pieces separately to prevent scratching.
