George I Oak Small Panelled Carved Yorkshire Coffer C1722

An original Yorkshire carved oak panelled coffer, dated "1722", of small proportions. This coffer with triple panel hinge top. Carved triple panel front with, each panel with carved lozenges and the central panel carve dated "1722". Panelled sides and back. Raised on short stiles. All original including the base, hinges, timbers, panels, other than the extra lock.

A charming, quality, handsome coffer, full of originality and in a very good condition and ready for use.

Dimensions:

This coffer measures approximately 48 cm (19") tall, 107 cm (42") wide, and 49 cm (19") deep.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This original coffer is in a very good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally very sound and sturdy. Good colour, polish and patina throughout. Some odd and minor marks and blemishes, in keeping with age and use. A later further lock. A little extinct old worm holes to the front edge of the top, and some of the feet, though does not affect the sturdiness of the piece, and has been treated. In good working order, very serviceable and ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
