Athey Antiques has dated this Arts and Crafts Oak Bureau to the 1900s.
The galleried top with pierced decorative design and brass mounts, fall front ( stamped patented lock , working and with key ) opening to interior fitted with various compartments and tooled leather writing surface supported by the drawer below, the tambour fronted base section opens to fitted compartments, decorative spindled details to the sides.

with some light fading and normal signs of wear and tear commensurate with age and use, this lovely quality bureau is in good clean condition and bears all the signs of being from the workshop of James Shoolbred & co, there is a registration number of 552 stamped on the back of the cabinet.
