Technical Description

An 18th-century opaque twist wine glass with a round funnel bowl. Rests upon a single series opaque twist stem consisting of an edged multi-ply corkscrew. Conical foot with a snapped pontil.

Date & Origin

England, c1760. Period of George III.

Condition

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration

Height: 15.2cm Rim diameter: 5.5cm Foot diameter: 6.7cm

Historical Relevance

Hand-blown around the time the first patent for a one-piece pencil with eraser was issued to American inventor J. Rechendorf of New York City.
