A Rare 19th Century Gin Glass

A rare and collectable Georgian drinking glass from the late 18th century. Denoting the glass as a gin glass rather than the more commonly found ale or spirit flute, is the cut pattern of juniper berries to the body. The glass has a conical bowl and sits on a double ball knop. The plain and wide foot is slightly domed and has the expected broken pontil mark. With today's fashion for flavoured Gins that are often drunk with out mixers, this is the perfect capacity. A charming example of good collector's piece, with a practical use 230 years on.
