Technical Description

An antique 18th century opaque twist wine glass with an ovoid bowl. Rests upon a double series opaque twist stem consisting of two pairs of spiral threads outside a gauze. Conical foot with a snapped pontil.

Date & Origin

England, c1760. Period of George III.

Condition

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration

Historical Relevance

March 20th, 1760, the 'Great' Fire of Boston destroyed 349 buildings and the 'Great' Comet named C/1760 A1 approached Earth within 0.0682 AUs.
