19th Century Cut Glass Perfume Bottle C1820

Technical Description
 
An exceptional early 19th century cut glass perfume bottle. The mushroom stopper features flute and diamond cutting. Polished shoulders leading down to a radial and diamond-cut body.
 
Date & Origin
 
England or Ireland, c1820. Period of George IV.
 
Condition
 
Excellent, a few very small nibbles to a few of the diamond cuts as expected. Clean and clear, original stopper.

Height: 7.5cm Diameter: 10cm.
 
Historical Relevance
 
Hand-blown around the time the streets of Birmingham were lit by gas for the first time on the 14th of April 1819.
