These original 1930 Art Deco wall light sconces arrive as a matching pair, designed in a distinctive cloud silhouette with an odeonesque aesthetic. Each fixture consists of curved, layered peach and clear moulded acrylic or Perspex panels joined with visible metal screws along the top edge, sides and front curve. The open-topped configuration allows straightforward access for changing bulbs. Measuring 11 cm high, 27 cm wide and 12 cm deep, they suit compact wall spaces without dominating the surrounding area. They bring period character to hallways, living rooms or bedrooms, mounting easily to vertical surfaces to cast ambient illumination downwards and outwards through the tinted translucent material. The construction shows clean layered profiles from the side angles, displaying an industrial yet decorative structural approach typical of mid twentieth-century domestic lighting design. Normal signs of surface wear appear across the panels from past use, maintaining an authentic vintage appearance while remaining structurally sound and ready for installation in a modern interior.

Art Deco wall sconces from the 1930s typically feature geometric silhouettes, stepped profiles, or stylized cloud forms, utilizing frosted, moulded, or tinted glass to softly diffuse light. This era marked a transition toward architectural wall lighting designed to complement streamlined modern interiors.

Sconces from this period commonly incorporated sheet or pressed glass, early synthetic polymers, and polished brass or chrome-plated metal mounts. Layered panels of clear and tinted glass were frequently layered with small metal screws to secure the assembly.

Authentic pieces generally display period-appropriate metal fixtures with minor patination, smooth ground edges on glass panels, and age-consistent surface wear around mounting points. Original internal lamp holders often require sympathetic rewiring to meet modern electrical safety standards.

Mounting a pair of sconces on a narrow wall space, along a hallway, or flanking a bed creates balanced architectural interest while delivering warm ambient lighting. Their curved silhouettes visually soften modern linear spaces without overwhelming the surrounding decor.

Glass components should be wiped gently using a dry or slightly dampened microfibre cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could damage tinted surfaces or glass edges. Metal fixtures ought to be kept dry to preserve their finish and checked periodically for tight fastenings.
