Technical Description
An 18th century pedestal stem sweetmeat glass. A double ogee bowl with an everted rim rests upon a hollow eight-sided pedestal stem. The piece is supported by a large rib moulded domed and folded foot with a rough pontil.
Date & Origin
England, c1750. Period of George II.
Condition
Excellent, age-related wear as shown.

Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time the British captured Pondichéry, India from the French on the 16th of January 1761.
