Antique English 18th Century Engraved Export Wine Glass C1750

Technical Description
 
A superb English lead mid 18th-century Export wine glass in pale green. It has a large Ogee bowl engraved with a continuous fruiting vine. A solid section at the base of the bowl contains an air tear above a large hollow angular knop and hollow stem. Conical foot with a snapped pontil.
 
These glasses were made in England for export into the European market.
 
You can see an almost identical unengraved example in ''Coloured Glass by Derek C David and Keith Middlemas'' where they show a selection of Export glasses from the mid 18th century on pages 22 and 23.
 
A wonderful example which we have never had in the last 20 years.
