Technical Description

An excellent 18th century facet cut wine glass. It has a round funnel bowl with various styles of facet cuts to the base of the bowl. The stem has been beautifully cut with long diamond facet cuts above a conical foot which has also been facet cut.

One of the best facet cut wine glasses we have exhibited in some time.

Date & Origin

England, c1780. Period of George III.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown.

Height: 15.2cm Bowl Diameter: 5.2cm Foot diameter: 6.2cm.

Historical Relevance

Hand-blown around the time of The American Revolutionary War, more commonly known as the American War of Independence.
