This large nineteenth-century English Victorian chandelier is constructed from cut glass, lead crystal, and brass in a clear colourway. The multi-tiered fixture comprises six down-swept and six up-swept curved glass arms, glass candle sleeves, a baluster central column, and a circular crown element at the top. The design includes heavy decoration of crystal bead swags, faceted crystal teardrop pendants, and button chains, suspended across multiple levels and terminating in a faceted finial drop underneath. Measuring 140 cm high, 90 cm wide, and 90 cm deep, the chandelier provides substantial overhead illumination and visual presence. Suitable for principal living spaces such as dining rooms, entrance halls, or drawing rooms, the chandelier complements traditional and period interiors. The reflective crystal elements catch and disperse ambient light effectively from any central ceiling position. The robust proportions and classic configuration suit high-ceilinged residential rooms seeking a traditional English country house aesthetic.

Nineteenth-century English cut glass chandeliers are defined by high lead content glass, hand-cut facets, hollow glass arms, and elaborate hanging crystal drops designed to maximize light refraction.

These fixtures were primarily crafted using leaded crystal glass, blown glass elements, brass or iron central armatures, and metal wiring to support the hanging prisms and swags.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut facet edges that show slight irregularities, hand-blown glass components with occasional air bubbles, and metal armatures exhibiting natural age and patination.

A large crystal chandelier can be hung above dining tables, in central entrance foyers, or within high-ceilinged living rooms to serve as an architectural focal point.

Clean individual glass elements using a lint-free microfibre cloth lightly dampened with a mixture of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners on metal armatures.
