French Opaline Glass Perfume Bottle with Miniature Painting of Column Vendome

Description

A stunning French Opaline Glass Perfume Bottle with pierced Gilt Metal stopper shoulder & collar, the stopper lid.inset with detailed miniature painting of Parisian Place Vendome with the Column Vendome to celebrate the victory of Austerlitz;

The original column was started in 1806 at Napoleon's direction and completed in 1810. It was modelled after Trajan's Column.

The hinged lid opens to reveal the original Glass Stopper.It measures 9.5 cm High and Base diameter is 5.8cms. There is one small hole to the sie of the stopper but other than that its in Excellent condition. c.1860.
