A superb 19th-century glass tumbler with a story to tell. Tapered bowl with a band of flute cuts towards the base which has a polished pontil. It has been beautifully engraved with a stylized rose, buds, and leaves. At some later date (which could have been days or years), the initials A.R. inside a laurel wreath with flowers and love hearts has been added in quite a nieve engraving style. A gift, a love token... it's all very personal from a bygone era.
An unusual slim line tumbler...can't say we have seen too many in this style and size before.
