Technical Description
 
A superb 18th-century wine glass with a round funnel bowl above a single series opaque twist stem consisting of a white multi-ply corkscrew edged in vivid blue. Conical foot with snapped pontil.
 
Date & Origin
 
Netherlands, c1760. Period of George III.
 
Condition
 
Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration.

Comments
 
English lead colour twists from the 18th century are both rare and highly sought after, blue being one of the most desirable. This is a Dutch soda glass example where the clarity of the metal is not quite so clear as their English lead counterparts...however, the colour is just as rare and you will have great difficulty in finding another.
 
You will notice that it has an irregular foot shape with a ''dent'' at one section. This is not damage or restoration but happened in the cooling oven when the glass was still soft and the foot was knocked into another gl...
