An 18th-century gin glass with an elegant drawn round funnel bowl above a plain stem and conical folded foot with a snapped pontil.

Date & Origin

England, c1740. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear as shown.

Dimensions

Height: 11.3cm Rim diameter: 5.8cm, Foot diameter: 6cm.

Historical Relevance

Hand-blown around the time the astronomer Anders Celsius introduced the Centigrade temperature scale.
