Rare Georgian Wear Flint Company Cut Glass Decanter C1825

Technical Description
 
An exceptional George IV Prussian glass decanter dating to 1825. Original hollow stopper with bands of fine sharp small diamonds above oval cut fine diamonds. Slice cut neck with two neck rings. The main body continues the bands of fine sharp diamond ovals Large polished pontil to base.
 
The decanter will hold 1000ml (1.5 bottles of wine) to the base of the lower band of slice cuts.

Condition
 
Excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration. Clean and clear.

The Wear Flint Glass Company was best known for its production of the Lambton Glass Service which was made for the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry in 1825 and consisted of a collection of 158 pieces including; punch bowl, decanters, claret & water jugs, goblets, tumblers, honey jars, finger bowls, ice tubs, etc. Most items are engraved with the Londonderry coat of arms.
