Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Erivan runners originate from the Yerevan region of Armenia and the Caucasus, produced predominantly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are defined by geometric patterns, central medallion field arrangements, and rich primary colour palettes.

These textiles are hand-knotted using hand-spun wool pile woven onto a wool or cotton foundation. Dyes are historically derived from natural plant and mineral sources, such as madder root for red hues and indigo for deep blue tones.

Authentic examples exhibit hand-knotted asymmetrical or symmetrical wool knots, minor variations in weaving tension known as abrash, and natural dye graduation throughout the pile. The reverse side reveals distinct hand-knotted structures rather than uniform machine backing.

Position the runner in a hallway, entrance hall, or along a galley kitchen to introduce structure, texture, and visual depth. The deep blue and red tones contrast effectively against neutral timber flooring or polished concrete.

Vacuum regularly on a low setting without a rotating brush to protect the pile, and place a dedicated underlay beneath the runner to distribute foot traffic evenly. Professional wool-safe cleaning is recommended for stain removal and routine maintenance.
