Henley Street Antiques has dated this Victorian Silver Commemorative Medal to the Victorian era.
The medal reads amongst other lines:

"This medal commemorates the first centenary of the Baptist Church Cannon St. Birmingham, August 24, 1837", "Number of members at the formation of the church seventeen, present number of members 742", "Pastor, the Rev'd Thomas Swan".

Reverend Thomas Swan (1795-1857) was a Professor of Theology in India and after his arrival in Birmingham became a social reformer with close connections to the Anti Slave Society. Swan is still revered to in Birmingham and the UK.

The medal has a diameter of ca 52 mm and has a weight incl. Glass of ca 60 grams. There are some marks on the glass on both sides.
