The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
They have elegant plain styling with a broad gadroon border and high domed covers. The detachable handles feature hooves, perhaps to mirror the family crest which is a rearing stag.
They are hallmarked for London 1792.
One of the bases has 'Storr and Mortimer' on the base. The other base is split into two separate dishes.
