Description

An exceptional Victorian glass and silver scent bottle. The body of the scent bottle is hobnail cut glass in an unusual pattern. The gorgeous silver twist off lid is decorated with flowers and swirls and has an empty cartouche. Around the base hallmarks are visible for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1898 and silver maker's marks: John Grinsell & Sons. When the threaded lid is removed the silver mount is revealed where further matching hallmarks are visible. The original internal faceted glass stopper completes this beautiful scent bottle.

Condition: In very good antique condition with some nibbles to some facet edges (see photos).
