A Rare Georgian 'Fort for Ever' Etched Decanter

A rare glass decanter from the end of the 18th Century. This unusual example is a full size spirit decanter, with three etched 'marriage' initials in pricked form. Underneath is etched Fort For Ever, which is very rare and interesting and potentially refers to a politician or similar. The body is baluster in shape and the neck has three applied bands. The base has a polished pontil mark and the decanter retains the original 'bullseye' blow moulded stopper. An excellent collector's piece and a usable example. Dimensions below.
