Antique Was Benson Hot Water Jug

Description

A fine Arts and Crafts silver plated hot water jug, dating from the late Victorian era.

Crafted by the highly collectable W A S Benson, it is unmarked but is a variation of his Model 625. Electroplated copper, in an ovoid pedestal egg form with raised moulded band, slice knopped squat stem and stepped splayed foot. The handle has rubber insulating pads, the spout is a pinched beak shape and the pull-off lid has a turned wood finial.
