Technical Description
 
A fine Georgian opaque twist wine glass dating to 1760 with a large goblet sized round funnel bowl. Sits on a central knopped double series opaque twist stem consisting of two pairs of spiral tapes outside a gauze. A conical foot with a rough pontil.
 
Historical Relevance
 
Back in the 1970-80''s when the Scott Falk collection was put together, restoration may not have been so easily recognised by either dealers or their customers. The ''wear line'' should only be where the glass touches the surface. In this case, the wear extends inside this line and the outer rim in flatter than would be expected.
