Technical Description
 
A superb 18th-century opaque twist wine glass. A bell bowl above a double series opaque twist stem with three swelling knops. The stem consists of two pairs of 3-ply spiral bands outside a gauze. A conical foot with a rough pontil.
 
Historical Relevance
 
As part of the Scott Falk collection, this is a very fine example and I''m sure Scott was very excited to add it to his collection in the 1970s. It is worth remembering that this was the pre-internet days and finding 18th-century glass was far more difficult than it is today. A triple knop opaque twist would be a fantastic find and even today, good English lead example are not something you will find on a regular basis.
