An 18th-century opaque twist wine glass.
A conical foot with a rough pontil.
Historical Relevance
As part of the Scott Falk collection, this is an interesting glass with a rare twist combination in the stem. We don't recall having an example of this twist before and we couldn't find another example on line. Scott obviously had a fine eye for the unusual.
In a historical context, this glass was made around the time that the Scottish School of Design was founded in Edinburgh on July 27th 1760. It later became the Royal Institution and finally the Royal Scottish Academy.
