A Superb Georgian Cut Glass Wine Bottle/decanter Coaster

An extremely rare example of Georgian cut glass, possibly of Irish origin. This is a wine coaster for a decanter. Often mistaken for the similar shaped bases for a butter dish, this is a scarce and desirable item with a practical use. It is of circular form with a drop centre to hold a decanter. The wide rim has geometric and star cut designs. To the centre the base has deep fan cutting. A wonderful example of Georgian glass, both decorative and usable . Dimensions below.
