Technical Description
A superb pair of late 19th century Italian (possibly Salviati) vaseline glass candlesticks with ribbed decoration and clear applied rigaree around the hollows stems. Large conical feet with snapped pontils.
Historical Relevance
Handcrafted around the time Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom died at age 81 in 1901, after more than 63 years on the throne she was the longest reigning monarch of the United Kingdom at that time. She has since been surpassed by her great-great-granddaughter Elizabeth II on the 9th of September 2015.
