Date & Origin

England, c1750. Period of George II.

Condition

Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration. The foot rim has a slight kink at one section which happened during manufacture.

Dimensions

Height: 19cm Rim diameter: 8.7cm Foot diameter: 8.9cm.

320 grams

Technical Description

A large 18th century two-part air twist wine goblet. The Bell bowl with a multispiral air twist originating at the base of the bowl and moving down the stem. Large conical foot with a snapped pontil. Excellent vertical tooling to the bowl.

Historical Relevance

Hand-blown around the time France declared war on Britain during The War of the Austrian Succession in 1744.
