Technical Description
Engraved 18th century Jacobite Sympathy facet cut wine glass. A large round funnel bowl engraved with a very fine carnation and bee. A fine hexagonal facet cut stem. The foot is conical with a rough pontil.
This large goblet example is particularly well engraved with the main flower, three Scottish thistle leaves, a closed carnation bud and the bee.
Historical Relevance
Hand-blown around the time of the outbreak of The Fourth Anglo-Dutch War 1780–1784.
