France, c1800. Period of French First Empire.

Condition

Excellent, age-related wear and some grazes to the cuts as shown.

Height: 14cm Diameter: 6.2cm.

Technical Descriptions

An early 19th century cut glass sugar caster. The caster features a scallop cut rim above a baluster form body profusely decorated with an array of cutting styles. A solid star cut base supports the piece. The caster retains its original screw top cap with a facet cut finial.

Hand-blown around the time Napoleon Bonaparte crosses the Alps and invaded Italy in 1800
