Technical Description
A rare enamelled bar water bottle. The rim features two pouring sections upon a short neck. A square body is enamelled Munro’s Scotch Whisky Dalwhinnie. The piece is finished with a polished pontil.
Historical Relevance
The style of the bottle is most likely a homage to Munro’s square bottle whisky. A blended whisky imported to the US along with Munro’s King of Kings, by New York’s Epicure Wines and Spirits Co. following the end of prohibition. This blend very likely contained whisky from the Dalwhinnie distillery which was operated by James Munro & Son on behalf of its American parent company until 1919.
