Technical Description
 
A pair of Irish 19th century cut glass wine carafes. A wide neck decorated with three annulated neck rings leads to a slice cut shoulder. The body features panels of diamond cutting bordered with prism cuts above flute cutting around the base. The broad polished pontil completes the piece.
 
Historical Relevance
 
Hand-blown around the time King George III was recognised as insane. George, Prince of Wales (Later George IV) would become Prince Regent in 1811.
