Superb Birmingham 1904 Arts and Crafts Period Solid Silver and Cut Glass Cruet Set in Stand by Famous Makers Heath and Middleton.

1900 - 1920
Description

Stunning Birmingham 1904 English hallmarked solid silver and cut glass complete cruet set in stand by famous makers John Thomas Heath and John Hartshorne Middleton of the well known Hukin and Heath Company partnership, of the Arts and Crafts period. It comprises a salt, mustard pot with hinged lid, and pepperette (with star pierced top), as well as the two original matching mustard and salt spoons (with ball end finials), fitted into a three lobed silver stand standing on ball feet and having a split stemmed circular handle.

The cut glass portions are beautifully cut in a diamond pattern, and catch the light beautifully.

Unusually, all pieces are original to the set, including the spoons, with all pieces having matching full hallmarks.

Size-stand 3.5 inches by 4.5 inches; salt 1 5/8 inches diameter by 1.25 inches high; pepperette 1.25 inches diameter by 1 7/8 inches high; mustard 1.25 inches diameter(not including hinge) by 1 7/8 inches high.

Weight of stand only-90 grams. Total weight-260 grams.

Bottom of stand also marked with the number 11990.

A very classic and elegant yet functional piece by important makers, with both glass and silver in very good condition, beautifully designed, and all complete as originally made.

A lovely set to complement the table, or to give as a gift, to be much appreciated.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
