A Small Regency Cut Glass Pineapple Stand

19th century

In Georgian times, pineapples were hugely expensive and and to have one was a conspicuous sign of wealth. Families would sometimes have a pineapple stand in cut glass or ceramic on a side table or as a dining table centerpiece.
